Isabel lives between cultures—Spanish at home, English at school. Her Mexican mother calls her “mija,” her American father says “sweetie.” She translates dinner conversations, family recipes, and emotions across two worlds. Isabel does not consider herself one culture or the other. She is very proud to be both, American and Mexican —a bridge, a borderlander, living in both worlds.
